Preparedness is care.

The Preparedness Collective offers a ecosystem of science-backed resources, preparedness education, colleague collaboration, proactive planning support, and community practice opportunities.
From early disease detection tools to family-safe emergency protocols, we empower animal guardians and animal care colleagues with the knowledge and resources to navigate emergencies and large-scale disruptions with confidence.

By emphasizing community-led and network-based solutions, we are able to create a collective approach to preparedness. Together, we are working to ensure the bio- and psyche-safety of the entire family-unit in times of crisis.

Annual Exercise - will you practice with us this year?
Preparing for disaster can feel overwhelming. That's why we do it together.
A OneHealth perspective to preparedness and disaster planning acknowledges that animal, human, and environmental health are interconnected. We advocate for the early and intentional integration of all-species planning into emergency and disaster preparedness, response, and recovery at all levels - local, regional, continental, and global.

Engagement is advocacy.
This is an active, evolving space—where caregivers, veterinarians, and professionals learn, prepare, and respond together. We emphasize shared learning, and mutual aid, encouraging a participatory culture with collaborative problem-solving.
The animals of our world need action —from biosecurity planning to disaster preparedness kits to emergency action strategies - be prepared with us.
Members of the Preparedness Collective are conscious animal guardians and proactive animal care professionals that are engaged, equipped, and supported. Our members are known within their communities as strong advocates for their own animal family as well as those animal families adjacent to them - with the goal of creating trans-species safe spaces, even in the midst of crisis.
