Cannabis is rarely a life-saving treatment and the clinical effects of cannabis medicine are occur gradually over several days to weeks. The VeterinaryCannabis team only accepts non-urgent cases. If you are concerned about the health of your pet, please seek in-person, immediate veterinary care with a veterinary team in your local area. For Animal Caregivers
Our direct to animal caregiver cannabis consultationsare is designed to support animal caregivers as they explore the potential of cannabis medicine for their animal. Our goal is to provide up-to-date, scientifically sound, and harm reduction focused cannabis information to both animal caregiver and their pet's primary veterinary health care team.
Assessment & Support Session - $285 USD
If you are interested in a virtual consultation, our medical director Dr. João Gewehr takes web-based consultations. These are $285 sessions that include medical record collection and review, video consultation with Dr. Gewehr and two weeks of support from our team in getting started and titrating up in dose safely.
After this initial getting-started call, many pet parents are feel comfortable continuing with cannabis administration on their own. For those families or cases that need or want a bit of additional support, we also offer a guidance program, see below).
3-Month Guidance Program - $285/month x 3 month
This guidance program provides continued support from our team as you get started implementing an ECS support plan. Including a monthly checkin with your assigned Veterinary Cannabis Counselor (VCC), this program provides accountability, encouragement, and practical guidance. Our team is available to provide harm reduction education and animal-behavior support, as well as collaborate with your pet's primary care team.
Guidance programs provide patients and caregivers with sequential and progressive support as they become accustomed to a new care plan, implement new skills or information.
The 3-month program is designed to work toward longer term medical changes and health strategies.

Our team provides your client with support in locating products, administering or titrating their animal's cannabis protocol, journalling ideas, and other encouragement. Your client will be paired with a Veterinary Cannabis Counselor (VCC) who will help tailor a cannabis protocol to the client's treatment goals, your therapy plan, the animal's current health, and animal-safe products available in the client's geographic area.

If you are a veterinary professional already comfortable with locating and evaluating products in your area as well as creating dosing and monitoring plans....but just need a bit of extra guidance or support - this consult is for you.
We can provide guidance on molecular profiles and assist in designing condition-specific monitoring plans. However, you should already be familiar with creating and maintaining a cannabis protocol to utilize this consult type.
