Rocky Mountain MRC Annual Disaster Preparedness Exercise
The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of volunteers, organized locally, with the mission to improve the health and safety of their communities. MRC units exist to engage with local volunteers to strengthen public health, improve emergency response and recovery capabilities, and build community resilience. Medical Reserve Corps prepare for and respond to natural disasters (such as wildfires, and floods) as well as other emergencies affecting public health, such as disease outbreaks.
The Front Range Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps (FRvMRC) is a group of medical and non-medical volunteers that provide veterinary-specific disaster relief services and community outreach/education to the state of Colorado east of the Continental Divide.
This annual event exercises and evaluates the area's MRCs response to a mock disaster. The goal is to identify gaps in the area's disaster response plan and work to address identified needs. Role players and observers are still needed - if you're interested in participating, please reach out by email: [email protected].
